The Terrace Terrapins are back for another great season of softball!  This season we have TWO teams!  One men’s team and one coed team!

The Terrace Terrapins play all their games at St. Mark’s Luteran located at 1515 Hillendahl.  The fields are located behind the school on Pech Rd.

Adult & Family Ministry

Join us for a six session Tuesday evening “off campus” study on Love & Marriage based on the movie Fireproof.  The curriculum is created to help build and strengthen marriages using biblical principles.  It is designed with an easy format that integrates movie clips, key Scriptures and group discussion.

Rachel & Victor Mukome, Family Ministry Coordinators, will host the first class on April 13.

7:30 p.m. – Worship Service in the Sanctuary

A traditional service featuring a symbolic foot washing, communion, stripping of the altar, and Tenebrae (a service of shadows).

Good Friday – April 2

Noon – Worship Service in the Sanctuary

1 p.m. to 7 p.m. – Stations of the Cross Prayer Walk in the Fellowship Center

Gain a better sense of the rejection, humiliation, suffering and death of Jesus through this experiential journey.

Holy Saturday – April 3

7:30 p.m. – Easter Vigil Worship Service

We will gather together outdoors and process into a darkened sanctuary.

Easter Sunday – April 4

9 a.m. & 11 a.m. – Traditional Worship Service in the Sanctuary

10 a.m. & 11 a.m. J.O.Y. Zone – Easter EGGstravaganza

A fun place for children to make friends, learn Bible stories and connect with God.

Terrace Church Food Drive

The First Sunday of each month Terrace members are asked to remember the needy in our community.  Please bring your donations for the food pantry and leave them in the baskets in the gathering area.  If you wish to make a monetary contribution write “Food Pantry” in the memo area of your check.

 Items needed:

• Can meats such a tuna and salmon
• Cereal
• Crackers
• Soup
• Corn
• Green beans, pork and beans,
• Dry beans
• Rice
• Can fruits
• Can vegetables (tomatoes, etc)
• Salad dressings
• Mayo
• Paper Sacks

 Tuesday, March 23

Lunch and shopping @ Brookwood Restaurant and Garden Center in Brookshire.  We will board the Precinct 3 bus @ 10:30 a.m. and return @ 2:30 p.m.

Thursday, April 15

Travel to China without leaving Texas by touring the Forbidden Gardens in Katy.  We will leave the church parking lot @ 9:15 a.m. and travel by church bus.  The walking tour will last about 1^1/2 hours; there are benches along the way to rest and sit for a break.  The tour is accessible for wheel chairs and walkers.  The cost is $5.  We will stop for lunch at Cracker Barrell on the way home.

Thursday, May, 20

Shangri La Botanical Gardens in Orange, TX.  This will be an all day trip with either a walk through the gardens or a tour on the pontoon boat.   The cost is $8 for both tours.  We will be able to eat at the restaurant there at the gardens.  The cost of lunch is not included.  More details to follow.

Monday, June 21

Historic Calvert, TX.  We will leave Houston at 9 a.m., have lunch in Calvert, shop and do a self guided tour and return to Terrace at 5 p.m.

July Plans

Tour the Bluebell Creamery in Brenham and the Antique Rose Emporium in Independence.  Enjoy a “dutch-treat” lunch in Brenham.  More details to follow

Baptism & Communion

Baptism and Communion are the two sacraments celebrated in The United Methodist Church.

Baptism is one way we publicly acknowledge God’s claim on us and recognize God’s love for us.

Communion is one way we remember Jesus’ great love for each one of us.

Classes will begin on Sunday, February 14 @ 10 a.m. during JOY Zone and finish with a special Communion Service on March 28.

And also on Wednesday, March 3 @ 7 p.m. following the Wednesday Mid-Week Service and finish with a special Communion Service on March 31.
