Contributing artists to Terrace's music program are Lavena Linhart, a gifted music instructor who coordinates our music ministries with energy and love; Michael Moore, a multi-talented guitarist and vocalist who leads worship at the Celebration Service; and Paul Jernigan, Jr., one of the most accomplished organists in Houston who plays monthly at the worship service.

Chancel Choir

Directed by Lavena Linhart, the Chancel Choir presents special anthems as well as seasonal choral works at the worship service. The Chancel Choir is always seeking new members who enjoy singing Christian music and blending with other voices.

Children's Choir

Children's Choir meet weekly during the school year, providing a fun and meaningful music program for children three years old through the fifth grade. The Children's Choir rehearses Sunday evenings from 5:30-6:30 p.m. They share a snack supper with the youth at 5:00 p.m. in the Fellowship Center. The Children's choirs present musicals during the year and sing monthly in the worship service. They are directed by Lavena Linhart.

Praise Team

The Praise Team is composed of the Praise Band musicians -- guitar, drums, bass -- and the Praise Team vocalists. The Praise Team leads the contemporary music and singing at the Celebration Service, creating an exciting spiritual atmosphere for worship. The Praise Team is led by Michael Moore, Worship Leader.

Handbells

The Handbell Choir meets weekly to practice music for the Worship Services. They also perform special concerts during the year for Terrace UMC and the community.

Musical Productions

Terrace has earned a reputation in the community for our outstanding musical and theater productions. Previous productions have included Jesus Christ Superstar, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, Godspell, Circles of Love, and I Do, I Do. Terrace enjoys an abundance of talented performers in our congregation and also encourages artists throughout Houston to join in these performances. Future productions will be staged in our impressive new Fellowship Center.
